FAIN RECEIVES ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AWARD

AUGUST 2008 - Jim Fain ('67), NC Department of Commerce Secretary, recently was awarded the President's Award from the North Carolina Economic Developers Association (NCEDA).  The honor recognizes individuals who demonstrate extraordinary leadership in economic development in the state.  "Secretary Fain has been a true leader in economic development'" said Donny Hicks, immediate past president of NCEDA.  "NCEDA is proud to honor Jim for his years of hard work and dedication to the state of North Carolina."  Fain was appointed secretary of commerce by Gov. Mike Easley in 2001 and reappointed in 2004 after Easley's re-election.
