Friday, September 19 will be the annual HHSAA fundraiser cookout. Once again we will be serving up grilled hamburgers or hotdogs with all the fixings from 5PM to 7PM at the HHS cafeteria. Tickets are just $5 per person and are available at the HHS office, from an HHSAA board member or at the door. The football game that night will be against East - it will also be middle school band night. Plan on attending to support your alumni association.
It's hard to believe but Homecoming 2008 is right around the corner. If you haven't marked it on your calendar yet, this year's date is October 3. As always alumni homecoming events include the Hall of Fame induction and the all class reception at the Cedars. Visit our HOMECOMING page for all of the details. Of course homecoming also means reunions and we have several this year. The REUNION page lists the classes and details. Don't forget to check out the MESSAGE BOARD - it's a great way to locate old classmates or keep in touch.
At the start of next year the alumni association will be adding new board members to replace those who terms will be ending. If you or anyone you know would be interested in becoming a part of the HHSAA board, please email Kaye Youngblood (kyoungblood@hhs.henderson.k12.nc.us) or Greg Pace (gpace@hhs.henderson.k12.nc.us) by October 1.
We are continuing to develop contacts, or class agents, for each class. These would be the people in your class who organize your reunions and know how to get in contact with classmates when needed. Our idea is to use the class agents to get HHSAA communications out to their classmates, recruit members, and help us keep up with the constant changing contact information on our alumni. If you or someone you know would be a good class agent for your class, please send an email with contact information to Carson Calton (citytire@brinet.com).
Four alumni scholarships were awarded to the Class of 2008 graduates - check out our SCHOLARSHIP link to see the 2008 receipents plus all past winners. Our scholarships are supported solely through donations from alumni and supporters like you.
We want to encourage you to use this website. We hope you will find it easy to use and filled with information and features of interest. The MESSAGE BOARD is a great way keep in touch with old classmates, find out some needed information or locate someone that you haven't been able to before. Our goal is for this site to be used by all the alumni, faculty and supporters as a way to keep in touch with the Bearcat family as it continues to grow.
You can help us with this website as well. Let us know about any news of interest we should share with our members, by using the CONTACT US link, or give us feedback on features you like and don't like. And most importantly, tell your classmates and fellow alumni to sign up and become a member. Becoming a member is simple and best of all – IT’S FREE.
